Becouse "Deadly theatre" is the theatre of comerce set up to make money from it. What he means saying "dullness"? He is showing that this kind of theatre has no deep feelings or emotions for an audience. Peter Brook explains the "Deadly theatre" like theatre of dullness. And i found out that one of his most important and likely argument is that the "Good theatre is far to complex and ever changing to be explained by any book" Peter Brooks Ideas are meant to inspire and invigorate. But those people who are not familiar with major movements and theories in the last century of theatre may not understand when Peter Brook begins to talk about "Holy theatre" or Brecht and "Rough theatre". I didin't read all book, but i red something in there, where he is talking about four theatre categories: "Deadly theatre", "Holy theatre", "Rough theatre" and "Immediate theatre" If you read very carefully and very inside you can understand that everything connected in almost all art forms. This book is absolutely of the great value to all theatre artists. Peter Brook is a genius in his work "The empty space".
